Bharapar Village Overview

Bharapar, a village in Kutch, Gujarat, was established in Vikram Savant 1926 by 12 families from neighboring villages. These pioneers brought with them self-confidence, bravery, and an unshakable faith in God. Starting from scratch, they relied on collective efforts and self-help to build the village’s foundation.

Initial infrastructure, like Bharapar Lake and Shri Bhidbhanjan Mahadev Temple, was created through Shramdan (voluntary labor). Over the decades, Bharapar has transformed into a progressive village that values education, environmental conservation, and community development, all while maintaining its cultural and spiritual roots.

History Of Bharapar village

Bharapar village in Kutch, Gujarat, was founded in Vikram Samvat 1926 by 12 visionary families from nearby villages, including Mothala, Nani Vamoti, Khanay, Moti Vamoti, and Bara. These families came together with a shared dream of creating a new settlement built on the principles of self-reliance, courage, and faith in God. Despite limited resources and a harsh environment, they exhibited extraordinary determination to establish a thriving community. The Beginning: Courage and Vision The founders approached Shri Gagubha, a member of the royal family of Bhuj estate, expressing their desire to establish a new village on his land. Impressed by their self-confidence and unity, Gagubha granted them land near Dhufi village.

The families began their journey with nothing but their belongings loaded onto bullock carts, which also served as their temporary homes. They faced the harsh realities of starting life from scratch, sleeping under their carts and relying on their own strength and collective labor to build their future. Early Development: Shramdan and Infrastructure The community's first significant achievement was the construction of Bharapar Lake, which provided a much-needed water source for drinking and agriculture. This was accomplished through Shramdan (voluntary labor), a tradition that reflects the village’s collective spirit and commitment to progress. Recognizing the importance of spirituality and divine blessings, the villagers also initiated the construction of the Shri Bhidbhanjan Mahadev Temple. Despite limited resources, their devotion and effort were rewarded when Shri Laljibhai Jethabhai, a philanthropist from Dhufi village, contributed significantly to completing the temple in Vikram Samvat 1969.
